In case you were not aware, the number of Office 365 licenses granted as part of the MSDN Dev subscriptions has been increased to 25. For subscriptions that are already provisioned, you can increase the number by following these steps:

Use the Microsoft 365 developer subscription to develop your solutions independent of your production environment. You can build solutions for Microsoft Teams, Office Add-ins, Microsoft Graph, SharePoint Framework, SharePoint Add-ins, and more. Join the Microsoft 365 Developer Program Go to the Join the Microsoft 365 Developer Program page. Microsoft 365 is a subscription that includes the most collaborative, up-to-date features in one seamless, integrated experience. Microsoft 365 includes the robust Office desktop apps that you’re familiar with, like Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. MSDN subscriptions offer on-premises tools plus an allowance for Azure usage-but the options are somewhat complicated. An Office 365 Developer subscription, and a passel of other software.

  1. Navigate to the Admin portal -> Billing -> Subscriptions (https://portal.office.com/AdminPortal/Home?switchtomoderndefault=true#/subscriptions)
  2. Select your Dev subscription, should be: Microsoft Office 365 Enterprise E3 Developer (MSDN)
  3. Check the number of licenses, if it still says 1 continue to the next step
  4. The right pane should load, it will look something like this:
  5. Change the number of Total licenses to 25, either by typing the number or using the scroller buttons
  6. Wait for the pane to refresh, the end result should look like this:
  7. Press the Submit button, after additional confirmation press the Close button
  8. Wait for the Subscriptions page to refresh, profit!

  1. Go to the Join the Microsoft 365 Developer Program page.

  2. In the upper-right corner, choose Sign in to sign in with your Microsoft account or Azure Active Directory-enabled email.

    Note

    Remember the account that you sign in with. You’ll sign in to the Developer Program dashboard with this account. This account is different than the admin ID that you'll use for your Microsoft 365 developer subscription.

  3. After signing in, choose Join now.

  4. On the Microsoft 365 Developer Program Signup page, complete the following fields in the online form:

    • Contact Email
    • Country/Region
    • Company
  5. Review the terms and conditions. You'll need to select the check box before you can join.

  6. Optionally, select the I would like to hear from the Microsoft 365 Developer Program check box if you want to hear from Microsoft about new capabilities and other updates.

  7. Choose Next.

  8. On the Microsoft 365 Developer Program Preferences page, tell us your preferences so we can personalize your experience, including:

    • The industry that you work in.
    • The type of applications or solutions that you're interested in developing.
    • Products, technologies, and programming languages that you're interested in.
  9. When you're finished, choose Join. Your preferences appear on the next page in the top right, and you will receive a Welcome message.
